Job Description

Fixed term (2 years) Clinical Research Fellow – Fertility Preservation

NHS Lothian – University Hospitals Division – Women & Children’s Services

Post based in Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP), Edinburgh. Fixed term, full time (40 hours per week), 2-year duration starting 1 July 2026 (possible extension of 1 year).

Responsibilities

  • Care of children and young adults of reproductive age in fertility preservation service.
  • Assess patient referrals, participate in decision making and discuss complex cases with senior clinical staff.
  • Prepare patient summaries for presentation at local or national MDTs.
  • Provide clinical advice and facilitate patient consent at remote “Spoke” sites.
  • Deliver clinical care to patients at RHCYP.
  • Undertake a clinical research project aiming to obtain an MD/PhD qualification.

Qualifications

  • GMC registration and licence to practice in the UK.
  • Clinical training and experience in paediatric endocrinology or related specialty.
  • Commitment to the clinical research project and academic development.
