Speech and Language Therapy Service – Acute Sector – Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – NHS Grampian
0.6 WTE Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist – Fixed term 11 months.
Responsibilities
- Work with adults presenting with acquired speech, language, communication, eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties across acute specialties such as neurosciences, ENT, head and neck cancer, acute and critical care.
- Provide high quality patient centred care within the Band 5/6 rotation, working flexibly across teams within the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Speech and Language Therapy service.
- Collaborate with a small, friendly team and a Clinical Lead SLT, and engage in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain close working relationships with community SLT colleagues to support effective patient transition out of hospital.
- Participate in peer support, mentoring, supervision and ongoing CPD as part of a supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist with a strong foundation of clinical knowledge in adult acute care.

Work Schedule
As from 1 Apr 2026, the Agenda for Change full time working week will be 36 hours. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate to maintain pay.
