Job Description

We re working with a leading UK-based engineering and manufacturing organisation operating at the forefront of defence, security, and industrial technology. With continued investment in a new state-of-the-art facility and a strong forward order book, they are now looking to appoint an experienced EC&I Project Engineer to support a growing portfolio of automation and infrastructure projects.

EC&I Project Engineer – The Role:

  • Lead and deliver electrical engineering projectsfrom concept through to completion
  • Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of LV/HV distribution, control, and lighting systems
  • Produce technical drawings and specifications using tools such as AutoCAD
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental regulations
  • Support hazardous area (ATEX) documentation and explosive environment compliance
  • Manage contractors and ensure safe, high-quality project delivery
  • Develop and improve engineering standards, procedures, and policies
  • Support capital project planning and investment proposals
  • Contribute to energy efficiency and carbon reduction initiatives across site

EC&I Project Engineer – The Person:

  • Proven experience in electrical project engineering within an industrial or high-hazard environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution and control systems
  • Familiarity with BS 7671 and safe systems of work (RAMS, PTW, etc.)
  • Experience producing electrical designs and drawings (AutoCAD or similar)
  • Understanding of ATEX regulations (or willingness to develop expertise)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Located in Ayrshire, this role would be commutable from Irvine, Kilmarnock, Prestwick, Ayr and Glasgow.
