Social Worker (Children’s Services) – City Chambers. Working across Edinburgh.
Salary: £40,501 – £47,639
Hours: 36 per week
We are looking for three enthusiastic social work practitioners to join our Young People’s Service (YPS) working with children and young people aged 12-18 who are in conflict with the law.
We work in partnership with children, young people and their families on a voluntary and statutory basis within both the children’s hearings and criminal justice systems. We are a team committed to supporting children and young people to realise their potential.
Responsibilities.
- Hold a varied caseload, including holding legal orders, undertaking risk assessments using START:AV and AIM 3, writing reports for the Children’s Reporter, Procurator Fiscal and Court, and delivering interventions.
Qualifications and Requirements.
- Hold a Social Work qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- Registration with SSSC is required.
- Post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007; candidate required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
- Overseas Criminal Record Check if spent continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in last 5 years (you must provide). Offer subject to satisfactory checks.
