NHS LOTHIAN – Post: Specialist Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist – Wheelchair & Seating
About the Role
Opportunity to join the Wheelchair & Seating Service’s Children’s Therapist Team at the SMART Centre, Astley Ainslie Hospital, Edinburgh. The SMART Centre provides highly specialised clinical rehabilitation technology services across southeast Scotland.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-focused assessment and prescription of manual and powered wheelchairs and postural supports, utilising specialist decision making and clinical judgement to maximise function and independence with appropriate pressure relief and management.
- Provide advice, education and training to multi-disciplinary team members, external healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients and relatives.
- Participate in quality management and improvement activities within the service.
Qualifications & Requirements
Postgraduate experience working within paediatrics is required.
Knowledge of wheelchairs and seating would be an advantage; training will be provided as required.
Must hold or obtain a PVG Scheme membership/record for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult). Must demonstrate legal permission to work in the UK.
Contract
Permanent position of 21.6 hours over 3 days.
