Senior / Lead EC&I Engineer

What will you be doing?
Deliver hardware, secondary systems, and LV electrical designs across the full project lifecycle
Produce and review engineering drawings including SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and GA drawings
Design Protection & Control panels, LV systems, cabling, and interface solutions
Carry out electrical calculations and produce technical documentation
Support or lead design reviews, technical assurance, and project delivery activities
Provide input to testing, commissioning, and site implementation
Work closely with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams
(Lead level) Take technical ownership, guide engineers, and support project delivery decisions
Where you’ll be doing it
You’ll be joining a well-established engineering business working across the UK energy sector, delivering projects within generation, transmission, and distribution.
They operate in highly regulated environments and are involved in critical infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on engineering quality and long-term capability development
What you’ll need:
Experience in EC&I / hardware design within high-voltage or industrial environments
Ability to produce engineering drawings using tools such as EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical
Knowledge of Protection & Control systems, LVAC/DC systems, and substation design
Understanding of plant interfaces (CBs, CTs, VTs, transformers, etc.)
Familiarity with IEC 61850 and substation communication systems
Experience working across multiple stages of the project lifecycle
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
For Lead level applicants:
Experience leading projects or acting as a technical authority
Ability to review, approve, and guide engineering work
Confidence engaging with clients and leading design reviews
