We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Aberdeen UK.

Responsibilities

  • Create a plan of sales appointments with prospects, developing and existing clients, with a game plan to engage and secure opportunities
  • Develop all necessary procedures and processes to ensure that the sales function operates efficiently and effectively and achieves objectives
  • Create and identify new business opportunities
  • Contact new and existing clients either by face to face meetings, telephone calls or networking
  • Prepare presentations and proposals for prospective clients
  • Setting your own appointments and managing your own time
  • Required to sell air and sea freight services, both imports and exports
  • Support Business Development at Sales Meetings
  • Issue Visit Reports via the company CRM
  • Meet sales reporting and visit KPI’s
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and other relevant bodies to ensure that the company’s maximum sales potential is realised in your area
  • Monitor the sales performance of competitors to ensure the company maintains and develops its competitive position Proactively identify and target new business opportunities within a defined market – i.e., Energy, Engineering, Aquaculture, Farming
  • Generate leads through outbound activity, including cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and networking
  • Qualify prospects and conduct discovery to understand customer needs and pain points
  • Manage the full sales cycle from first contact through to close.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly new business targets
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity reporting in CRM
  • Collaborate with marketing and account management teams to ensure smooth handover post sale

Qualifications

  • Several years of sales experience in international logistics or in the field of complex transport solutions
  • Strong hunter mentality, combined with a solution oriented consulting approach
  • Structured, goal oriented way of working with a high level of personal responsibility
  • Very good communication skills
  • Willingness to take regular business trips
  • Proven experience in New Business / Hunter Sales role
  • Strong prospecting and lead generation capability
  • Confident communicator with excellent presentation and negotiating skills
  • Results driven, resilient, and comfortable handling rejection
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high activity workload
  • Experience using CRM systems Highly motivated and target – focused
  • Tenacious, proactive, and self starting
  • Commercially astute with a growth mindset
  • Ability to work on your own
  • Use own initiative – self starter
  • Driving Licence required
  • Good Market Knowledge
  • Travel in the UK is required
  • Computer Literate
  • Able to plan as well as work to meet deadlines
