Job Summary
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK. The post is a specialty doctor position based in Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
Responsibilities and Work Pattern
- Cover the middle grade rota as a specialty doctor.
- Provide on call commitment at IRH on a 12.5 hour shift pattern covering emergency theatre, critical care referrals and transfer of level 3 patients, and attend ED for resuscitation and referrals.
- Participate in teaching for undergraduate medical students and allied health professionals and support with FRCA examinations.
The work pattern consists of one long day, one night shift and one to two standard working days per week as an indicative job plan.
The post has a 10 person capacity, consisting of nine Director of Clinical Care (DCC) posts and one Senior Practitioner (SPA) post.

Qualifications / Criteria
- Full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Completed at least four years’ full time postgraduate training, or its equivalent on a less than full time or flexible basis, with at least two years in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT).
- Equivalent training, experience or competencies in the UK or overseas.
