Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Midwife to become part of the Inner Moray Firth Community Midwifery Team. This team is based in the Midwives base at Ross Lodge in Dingwall on the Ross Memorial Hospital site. On occasions the post may also include working with colleagues within the other teams in Inner Moray Firth.
The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach, be a good team player and have excellent time management skills. Community experience is desirable but not essential and is suitable for Band 5 or band 6 to apply. Dingwall is a great location if you enjoy outdoor pursuits and culture. The post includes a 7-day midwifery service and an on-call commitment for the provision of a Home Birth/Domino service within the Inner Moray Firth community midwifery teams. A full/current driving licence and use of own car with business insurance is essential for this post.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Responsibilities
- Provide midwifery care within the Inner Moray Firth Community Midwifery Team as part of a 7-day service.
- On-call commitment for Home Birth/Domino service within the community teams.
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams as required.
Qualifications and requirements
- Band 5 or Band 6 level eligibility.
- Flexible approach, good team player, and excellent time management.
- Community midwifery experience is desirable but not essential.
- Full/current driving licence and use of own car with business insurance.

Additional information for candidates
- Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis with an increase in the hourly rate to keep pay unchanged.
