Laboratory Analyst (Chromatography)
Looking for your next step in a busy chromatography laboratory? SRG are partnering with a global organisation at the forefront of health and environmental research to find a Laboratory Analyst to join their team.
If you have hands-on experience with GC and/or HPLC and enjoy practical laboratory work, this is a great opportunity to build your expertise across a range of techniques and sample types, with support from an experienced team.

The role
- Prepare, process and analyse samples within the Chromatography area
- Run GC, GC/MS, HPLC/UV/ECD, IC and other instrumentation in line with SOPs
- Record, calculate and report results accurately, completing required checks in line with laboratory procedures
- Support internal quality checks by reviewing your own data, investigating anomalies and raising issues promptly
- Support day-to-day lab operations (housekeeping, cleaning, stock checks and routine equipment care)
- Assist with troubleshooting and escalating instrument or method issues as required
- Work in line with the company quality system, including ISO 17025 (UKAS accredited) requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting practical updates to processes and documentation
What you’ll bring
- A relevant scientific degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a similar field
- Hands-on experience running chromatography instrumentation (GC and/or HPLC) in a commercial or regulated laboratory environment
- Good organisation and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and prioritise workload
- Accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using ICT systems including Microsoft Office and databases
- Punctual, reliable, and committed to high standards
- A collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in a small team
- A proactive, learning-focused mindset; experience supporting others or taking on informal mentoring is a plus, but not essential
