Principal Civil Engineer
Edinburgh or Glasgow
First People Solutions is working with a leading multidisciplinary consulting engineer, recognised its focus on sustainable urban infrastructure and innovative design. Due to growth, they are seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join their team.
This is a key leadership role, suited to an experienced engineer with a broad sector background and a strong track record in project delivery, client management, and technical design. You’ll play an important part in both project execution and wider growth strategy of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor engineering teams across all stages of project delivery
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business
- Support and develop junior team members, including identifying training needs
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- 6-12 years’ experience within a UK engineering design consultancy environment
- Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (IEng) status preferred
- Proficiency in InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD
- Strong client-facing and project leadership skills
