The Opportunity.
Our client, a country house hotel in Thurso, is looking for an experienced chef for 4-6 weeks with potential to be extended.
Key Responsibilities.
- Oversee daily kitchen activities and ensure smooth service
- Coordinate food preparation and cooking across stations
- Step in to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef s absence
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the required standards
- Monitor portion sizes, presentation, and taste
- Maintain consistency in recipes and plating
- Ensure team members follow kitchen procedures and standards
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
- Monitor proper storage and handling of ingredients
- Assist with ordering supplies and managing stock levels
- Reduce waste and control food costs
- Check deliveries for quality and accuracy
Requirements.
Essential.
- Minimum of Sous Chef level
- Follow Health and Safety procedures
