We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Diagnostic / Warranty Technician to join a busy and professional workshop in Edinburgh.

This role is ideal for a skilled Vehicle Technician who enjoys advanced diagnostics, fault finding and major mechanical repairs, rather than routine servicing. You ll be working in a modern workshop environment using OEM diagnostic tools and specialist equipment while handling complex repairs and warranty work.

Key Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex vehicle faults using OEM diagnostic systems and specialist tools
• Carry out major mechanical repairs including engine and gearbox replacements
• Perform advanced electrical and mechanical fault finding
• Conduct root cause analysis in line with manufacturer warranty standards
• Use specialist equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters and smoke testers
• Complete road tests, recalibrations and system resets after repairs
• Accurately document work for warranty submissions and manufacturer compliance
• Support and mentor junior technicians within the workshop
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, workshop organisation and health & safety

Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Requirements

• MI Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician, Master Technician or Senior Vehicle

Technician

• Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
• Experience working with manufacturer diagnostic systems
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Strong team player with a proactive and professional approach
