Due to continued growth, Escape’s established engineering client is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join their busy purchasing team.

This is a hands-on role responsible for sourcing materials and services, negotiating with suppliers, placing purchase orders and ensuring on-time delivery to support operational and build requirements.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules
  • Place and manage purchase orders through to delivery
  • Ensure materials and services are sourced cost-effectively and on time
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply issues
  • Work closely with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements
  • Support sourcing and tender activities where required
  • Maintain accurate data within the ERP system

Experience and knowledge required for the role:

  • Proven experience in a Buyer / Purchasing role within an engineering, automotive or maritime industry
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing priorities
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
  • Experience using ERP or procurement systems
  • Supportive team player
