Job Description
A Glasgow based graphics company is seeking a great all-rounder to take on the role of Commercial Manager, dealing with both procurement and financial activities.
You must have a proven track record in Commercial Management, with responsibility spanning Sales liaison, finance and accounts, estimating, material buying and supplier outsourcing. Possessing comprehensive estimating & commercial experience, you will lead & develop a team to ensure that estimating propositions or buying decisions are soundly based, through the maintenance of a range of approved suppliers that deliver quality and continuity of supply – including supplier service agreements.
Commercial
- Create new commercial relationships
- Conduct project meetings, site surveys and supervising site installations
- Attend project meetings with architects/designers and construction professionals
- Liaise with production department and suppliers to manage work flow and quality
- To gain a full understanding of what can be achieved and to communicate that effectively and to our clients commercial advantage
- Managing the Estimating function
- Manage sales, admin and production teams
- Material buying and supplier outsourcing
Financial Responsibilities
- Full monthly management accounts and year end preparation including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations and KPI analysis
- Production of monthly and annual budgets and forecasts
- Contract/Costing Accounting
- Preparation of in depth variance analysis including labour & overhead analysis and costing work & pricing analysis
- Bank reconciliations
- Responsibility for Monthly Payrolls
- Ensure the preparation of quarterly VAT returns in line with current tax legislation, submission of returns, communication with HMRC and timely payment of tax due.
Qualifications
- Experienced in a senior Commercial Manager or Finance Manager role.
- Confident – Able to hold theirown in management meetings.
- highly numerate with good spreadsheet skills
- Results driven & highly accurate.
- Have a full in depth all round accounts experience in a similar position
- Have good IT Skills and have an in depth knowledge of Sage Line 50 Payroll and Accounting.
- Able to demonstrate initiative, self-reliance and sound decision making, and encourage others within a team to do the same
- Highly numerate combined with an enquiring and analytical mind
