Job Description

Location: Lasswade High School Centre, Gymnastics Academy, Eskdale Drive, Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, EH19 2LA – located on the outskirts of Edinburgh, approximately 8 miles from Edinburgh city centre.

Salary: Direct Coaching rate is £10.50 – 13.36 per hour dependant on Qualification Level.

Contract: Part-time Permanent Employment. This is an Employed post, which provides 5.6 Weeks of Annual Leave, Pension and funding for CPD opportunities and coaching qualifications.

Hours: 4 – 12 Hours Per Week initially with opportunities to grow.

Schedule: Thursday evening 4.30 pm – 8.30 pm; Friday afternoon’s 1.30 pm – 4 pm; Sunday mornings 9 am – 2 pm.

Lasswade Gymnastics Club is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Level 1 or Level 2 Gymnastics Coach to join our thriving recreational programme. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for coaching, a positive attitude, and the ambition to develop their skills within a supportive club environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality coaching within a well-established recreational gymnastics programme.
• Plan and lead fun, engaging, and progressive sessions for gymnasts of varying ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced recreational level.
• Create a safe, positive, and encouraging training environment.
• Develop and implement effective, progressive lesson plans.
• Deliver the club’s Proficiency Awards Programme.
• Prepare gymnasts for inhouse events and competitions.

Person Specification

• Minimum of Level 1 coaching qualification, with a commitment to progress towards Level 2.
• Current Safeguarding and Protecting Children Certificate, and PVG.
• A strong focus on gymnast wellbeing, happiness and positive motivation.
• Ability to adapt coaching styles to suit different learning needs.
• A genuine passion for inclusive gymnastics for all.
