Horizontal Borer Machine Operator

East Kilbride Full Time

Were looking for a skilled and motivated Horizontal Borer Operator to join our busy and well-established machine shop.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Setting up and operating a conventional horizontal borer

  • Working with lathes, milling machines, and drills

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

  • Machining components to tight tolerances

  • Carrying out self-inspection to ensure high-quality standards

  • Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining workshop organisation




What Were Looking For



Essential:

  • Proven experience in a machining or engineering environment

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

  • Confident operating a range of machine tools



Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience with SH75 machines

  • Forklift licence

  • Overhead crane experience

  • Strong understanding of machine shop safety
