Health & Safety Advisor (Contract) – URGENT
Port of Nigg, near Inverness (Accommodation Provided)
Circa £450 per day 6-9 Month Contract
Start Date: March 2026
An urgent requirement has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a major industrial installation project at a manufacturing facility in the North of Scotland. This is a high-profile, fast-paced construction environment, working alongside multiple contractors on a large-scale site. You will play a key role in maintaining safety standards while supporting operational delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a major engineering installation project, working on a fixed site with a consistent team and clear structure. This is an urgent requirement, with a start date of March 2026. Our client is open to candidates UK-wide as full accommodation and travel is provided. The contract will be a minimum of 6 months, most likely extending to 9 months or more.
The Role
As the Health & Safety Advisor, you will be embedded within the site management team, taking a hands-on, proactive approach to safety across a busy live construction environment.
Key responsibilities include:
– Leading daily briefings and participating in coordination meetings
– Conducting site inspections, audits, and safety checks
– Managing and reviewing RAMS, lift plans, and safety documentation
– Investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses
– Delivering inductions and toolbox talks
– Liaising closely with the Principal Contractor and other site contractors
– Ensuring compliance while balancing the realities of a pressured project environment
– Contributing to forward planning through daily and next-day coordination meetings
This role requires someone who can see the bigger picture, not just enforce rules – working collaboratively across multiple stakeholders on a complex site.
Working Pattern
– Monday to Saturday (6 days per week)
– Rotational system offering 4 days weekends every few weeks
About You
We’re looking for a credible, site-experienced H&S professional who can operate confidently in a busy, multi-contractor environment.
You will have:
– NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
– Proven experience in live construction/engineering sites
– Strong understanding of UK H&S legislation and compliance
– Experience working with multiple contractors on large-scale sites
– A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge and influence
