Our solutions help customers ensure grid reliability and transition from scheduled to condition based maintenance.What you will doAs a Senior Hardware Engineer , you will support the design and development of class leading Condition Based Maintenance systems and products for electrical utilities and industrial customers. You will apply strong fundamentals in both analog and digital electronics and contribute across the full electronic product development lifecycle.Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will work closely with cross functional teams including firmware, mechanical, and test engineers. You will operate within an Agile development environment using Scrum, contributing to the delivery of critical, customer facing solutions.This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong technical judgement, and the flexibility to thrive in a fast paced, collaborative development environment. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop electronic hardware using development boards, analysis, and simulation tools Create schematics and PCB layout designs Verify designs against requirements and ensure all acceptance criteria are met Analyse technical issues and identify robust alternative solutions Ensure features, issues, and test results are documented in compliance with internal processes Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and test engineers to deliver complete product solutions Support transition to production, including failure analysis and issue resolution Support existing products throughout their lifecycle, including sustaining and improvement activities This opportunity could be for you if you have: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline Professional experience in hardware engineering Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously End to end experience across the electronic product development lifecycle Technical experience including: Analog and digital circuit design Schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer preferred) Prototype design verification and validation Use of laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, signal generators) Development of comprehensive test procedures Sensor interfacing and data acquisition Strong documentation skills and proficiency with MS Office You may be an extraordinary fit if you: Are an independent, motivated self starter Work effectively both individually and within cross functional teams Thrive in a fast paced, customer driven environment Additional experience in any of the following is highly desirable: Product development for utilities or industrial customers Distributed system design 19″ rack mounted or sub rack system design 32 bit microcontrollers Interface and protocol development (RS 232, RS 485, TCP/IP, UDP, 4-20 mA) Processor or SoM interfacing Product compliance testing (EMC, environmental testing) Utility asset monitoring (transformers, generators, switchgear)QUALITROL designs and manufactures monitoring and protection devices for high value electrical assets and OEM manufacturers.
