Cyber Security Officer – 6 Month Contract
We are supporting one of our key public sector partners in the recruitment of an experienced Cyber Security Officer for a 6 month engagement. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the organisation’s cyber resilience, advising on security strategy, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and legislation within a fast paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead security risk assessments, penetration testing activity and business impact analysis
- Develop, maintain, and monitor Information Security policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Deliver and evaluate organisation wide security awareness and training campaigns
- Provide expert security advice to ensure alignment with information assurance frameworks
- Support incident response and coordinate investigation activities
- Oversee third party and supplier security assurance
- Guide security requirements for projects, procurement and change initiatives
- Maintain and strengthen the Information Security Management System (ISMS)
- Mentor and support junior security team members
- Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST CSF, NCSC CAF and information assurance best practice
- Proven experience conducting and managing information security risk assessments
- Solid understanding of GDPR and DPA 2018 with the ability to embed compliance
- Demonstrable experience providing security leadership and advisory support
- Ability to interpret standards, policies and risk findings into actionable security controls
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non technical audiences
- Experience thriving in dynamic, fast moving environments
