Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor to support the safe delivery of a major highways project in Perth.

The HSE Advisor will work closely with site teams and management to promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with legislative requirements, and drive continual improvement in health, safety and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HSE advice and support to site and project teams

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, standards and company procedures

  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations

  • Support the development, implementation and review of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work

  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, producing reports and identifying corrective actions

  • Deliver HSE briefings, toolbox talks and training where required

  • Monitor environmental controls, waste management and sustainability initiatives on site

  • Support client and stakeholder HSE requirements and attend meetings as required

  • Assist with internal and external audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Promote a strong safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar HSE / SHE / QHSE Advisor role within construction or civil engineering

  • Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practice

  • Experience working on live construction sites

  • Confident communicator able to influence and engage site teams

  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload across multiple sites

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (desirable)

  • IOSH membership or working towards

  • CSCS Card (relevant to role)

  • Full UK Driving Licence
