Overview
Drainage Investigation Engineer needed to join the Auger Team, covering Edinburgh. Our total package is worth £36,412 – £40,603 without overtime.

Financials
- Starting Salary – £32,381 – £36,353 dependent on experience
- Annual Bonus – approx £2000 – £2500
- 5.5% Pension Contribution – approx £1781 – £1999
Overtime
- Optional weekend OT at 1.5x rate; e.g., 10 days would top up the package to £38,280 – £42,700
Working Hours
- 42.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, no on-call work
- Door-to-door travel including all driving time
- Go straight to your job from home – no depot/yard visit first
- Limited stays with bonuses/annual leave for more than 3 overnights per quarter

The Role
- Independently investigate drainage systems and recommend appropriate repairs
- Logically establish ownership and the cause of the customer’s issue
- Confidently explain works to customers to provide peace of mind
- Complete trial holes to locate foundations and collect soil & root samples
- Communicate proactively with the Field Operations Team at HQ
- Work effectively with other engineers in the team as required
Preferred Experience
- Use of CCTV Camera, including recording & labeling
- Use of CAT scanner to identify buried services & trace existing metallic supply
- Reinstatement of surfaces including paving slabs, block paving, cold lay tarmac, concrete, etc.
- Ability to complete small repairs (e.g., replacements of gullies, rest bends or sections of pipework)
