Working Hours
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, 0.5 WTE band 8a Principle Applied Psychologist to work within the Lothian Substance Misuse Psychology Team. The post holder will become part of a well-established and very welcoming substance misuse psychology team, and will work as an integral part of the local multi-agency substance misuse recovery hub in Midlothian. The post holder will work with people of all ages experiencing problems with substance misuse and mental health. The role will involve a mix of direct clinical work, staff training and supervision, and consultancy/MDT working. There will also be significant scope for role/service development as well as service evaluation and research. There will also be opportunities for supervising trainees.
