Job Description
Currently seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. It is a 12-month contract position, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.
The Instrument Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Providing discipline support to operated assets and project teams.
- Delivering maintenance plans/programs to ensure cost effective operation and asset integrity throughout facility lifetime.
- Fully adhering to planning processes to ensure ‘right first time’ delivery of instrument workscopes.
- Providing budget input/scope for maintenance and modifications.
- Responsible for continuously challenging technical solutions, engineering performance and cost of modification projects.
- Reviewing vendor workpacks to ensure compliance with performance standard requirements.
- Coordinating and robustly managing vendors to successfully deliver planned maintenance.
- Collaborating with key vendors to collectively problem solve/deliver complex scopes.
- Raising TWMs where complex technical solutions and modifications are required.
- Providing an optimised preventive maintenance program, including detailed work packages.
- Responsible for equipment performance including spare part management and warranty follow up.
- Owning management of change for non-like-for-like instrument scopes.
- Mobilising offshore as and when required.
- The postholder may be required to join the emergency response rota should this become a requirement of the position.
Experience/Qualifications:
- A degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline would be preferred.
- Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar operations-focused Instrument Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea Oil & Gas industry, is essential.
- Previous direct Operator experience would be preferred.
- Applicants should have previous offshore experience.
