NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is: 16:30 – 21:30 3 evenings per week, including weekends and public holidays.

This is a Fixed term post for 18 months.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse who already holds a first level adult nursing degree to join our OOH evening service as a community band 5 staff nurse for 18 months fixed term.

Applicants require significant nursing experience and demonstrable leadership and communication skills and evidence of continuing development. They must be passionate about a career in community services and be motivated to work autonomously within a dynamic environment as part of the wider HSCP. As a community staff nurse you will work within the Primary health Care team and under the direction and supervision of the District Nurse, will assess and deliver an agreed plan of care to individuals within a community setting. A clean current driving licence is required.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
