Job Description
An excellent opportunity for an Estimator has become available to join a reputable Construction Company based in Aberdeen. Reporting to the Estimating Manager you will be responsible for preparing, producing and submitting tenders for Commercial and Residential projects. You will be joining a company who are winning regular contracts which looks to continue into the future.
Main Duties:
- Prepare and submit competitive tenders.
- Obtain materials and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare take offs from tender documents received.
- Organise and track market price of equipment, material and construction costs.
- Review tender documentation, in order to prepare accurate cost estimation.
- Prepare handover documentation for successful projects and attend internal pre-start meetings.
- Attend tender adjudication meetings and tender interviews where required.
- Support/mentor/train Estimating team members as assigned.
- Supervise work of Estimating team members as assigned.
- Provide cover for the Estimating Manager in his/her absence.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines.
Essential:
- Experience in an Estimating role within the construction industry.
- Competent working on projects ranging between 50k to 20million.
- Demonstrate knowledge of bills of quantities including method of measurement.
- Demonstrate excellent numerical skills to calculate costs.
- Strong time management skills.
- Demonstrate in depth knowledge of budget control.
