Job Description

Overview

37 hours per week (part-time welcome) – Fixed Term to 31st March 2026, (it is anticipated successful candidate will primarily work from home).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development, delivery and evaluation of a national Closed Loop System (CLS) onboarding programme aimed at improving the accessibility of CLS devices across Scotland.
  • Secure clinical and operational engagement and drive safe, effective, and person-centred improvements in care on a Once for Scotland basis.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of key partners and stakeholders, both in national and territorial Boards, and communicate a clear vision for change.
  • Educate, train, and support people to be onboarded to Diabetes CLS; understand the complexity of managing Type 1 diabetes; deliver most training remotely/virtually; patient support and follow-up primarily via remote means or by phone and NHS Near Me; in-person sessions may occur in specific localities.
  • Project management experience is not essential; the role provides an opportunity to gain skills in improvement methodologies; input to project management planning and documentation and reports.
  • Work in a supportive and dynamic environment with potential travel for in-person meetings and patient training; primarily remote work with some site-based activity as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in educating, training, and supporting people to be onboarded to Diabetes CLS is essential.
  • Understanding the complexity of managing Type 1 diabetes.
  • Excellent group education and facilitation skills; ability to deliver training remotely/virtually; patient support via phone and NHS Near Me.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Most training and education sessions are remote; travel and occasional in-person training may be required.
  • Project management experience is not essential.

Other information

We offer a supportive and dynamic work environment where expertise will impact improving access to diabetes CLS throughout Scotland. The role is open to individuals residing anywhere in Scotland. Hot desk office accommodation is available at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital; however, the post holder(s) will primarily work from home. Some travel for in-person meetings and patient training will be required. This is a 1-year post with flexible working hours and schedule.
