Senior Buyer Position

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

The Senior Buyer is responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency of resources, achievement of value for money and risk and liability management through negotiation and other procurement skills and techniques and will lead on all aspects of multi million pound cross directorate contracts covered by their team’s portfolio including the analysis, selection, award and management of those contracts.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who are educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a Professional/Postgraduate qualification in Procurement and Supply e.g. CIPS Professional Diploma (Level 4) or equivalent experience, who have knowledge of contract law and public procurement legislation and have excellent team management, communication and inter personal skills.
