Location: Dalkeith, EH22 1QX
Salary: Up to £38,000 per year (DOE)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM 5:30 PM

The Role

As a key member of the workshop team, you ll carry out a variety of mechanical repairs, servicing, and diagnostic work on modern vehicles always ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Day-to-day, you ll:

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on cars and light vehicles
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
  • Replace components such as timing belts, clutches, and brakes
  • Use modern diagnostic equipment to pinpoint and repair issues
  • Complete road tests to ensure vehicle safety and performance
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers
  • Keep accurate job records and maintain a tidy workspace

About You

We re looking for a dedicated, hands-on, and dependable mechanic with a genuine passion for vehicle repair and customer satisfaction.

You ll need:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in vehicle servicing and repair
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a small, close-knit team
  • Your own tools

Desirable:

  • Experience with timing belts, clutches, and Hunter four-wheel alignment systems
