Company: Our client is a civil engineering company that provides specialist services to complex infrastructure projects in the water, energy and transport sectors, in both the UK and overseas.
Role
In-house Construction Solicitor / Legal Counsel: Working as a member of our client’s in-house legal team, you will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, reviewing and advising on standard form and bespoke construction contracts, major framework agreements, and joint ventures related to a wide array of large-scale projects, including matters overseas. The role is based at the company’s Glasgow office; you will work with commercial and legal colleagues across the Group, both in the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, negotiating, reviewing and advising on standard form and bespoke construction contracts, major framework agreements, and joint ventures.
- Managing matters related to a wide array of large-scale projects, including overseas assignments.
- Collaborating with commercial and legal colleagues across the Group in the UK and internationally.
Qualifications
- Scottish or England & Wales qualified solicitor with circa 5+ years’ PQE in construction / infrastructure.
- Preferably, experience in transport, energy or water related projects (not necessarily required).
- Experience of drafting, reviewing and advising on JCT, NEC, FIDIC, and other major framework agreements, and large-scale project matters.
- Strong desire to work in-house and comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced and expanding business.
- Existing international experience is desirable but not essential.
