General assistant in food preparation – 12.21 per hour
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that works hard, have multiple skill levels and will teach you everything you need to know to become a successful part of the team.
The role is a catering role and covers everything from dishwashing, food preparation, stock filling and you would get experience in every department, starting with the wash side so you get to understand the stock and different delivery lines from the start,
You will work as a General Assistant across all the short haul & long-haul operations, to work flexibly across all the “Main Duties & Responsibilities” as outlined below.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- To ensure the work area is kept safe and as clean as possible.
- Maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, health and safety in line with customer/company specifications
- To ensure that the standards of cleanliness and house-keeping are within the guidelines laid down in the Company procedures
- To be able to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally at all levels.
- To be totally flexible within the role and within the unit departments.
The areas you would be working in are:
- BOND AREA The receipt, handling and appropriate storage of all incoming goods and coordinating / managing stock.
- DISHWASH AREA General washing, sorting, assembling, packing and positioning of the aircraft equipment
- STORES To load / off-load lorries, stack shelves and replenish equipment/food items.
- FOOD PREPERATION Work to the instruction page that you are given and copy the image of each photo, Weigh and ensure high presentation, follow all production line procedure, Ensure each product looks identical and Great attention to detail
Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential. You must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn. In addition to job – related training, you will develop your skills in team work, time management, multi-tasking, communication and attention to detail.
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history. For anytime spent outside the UK exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC (Criminal Record Check) for that country.
You must be able to commit to a shift varying from 7am to 8pm – 7 days a week – this will be discussed and agreed at interview stage
