Job Description
CNX are recruiting for a principal interior fit out and refurbishment contractor based in Edinburgh, who specialise in multi-trade interior projects in the commercial sector.
Due to a healthy pipeline of work, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Construction Estimator to join their close-knit team in Edinburgh.
The Role
As an Estimator, you’ll play a vital role in the pre-construction process, producing accurate cost estimates, helping to secure new projects, and supporting tender submissions for a variety of commercial fit-out schemes from office refurbishments to retail spaces.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects up to £1m

Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed take-offs

Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing

Work closely with the directors and project teams to develop and refine bid strategies

Contribute to value engineering exercises and cost-saving proposals

Maintain and update pricing databases and project records
What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or fit-out sector

Strong understanding of commercial interiors, fit-out processes, and subcontractor trades

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam, Conquest, or similar)

Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy

Strong communication and negotiation skills

A proactive attitude and ability to work independently in a small, dynamic team

This is a permanent role, based in Midlothian Edinburgh, offering a salary of £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience and location. Start date will be August (tbc).
