Location: Dunderhall, Dalkeith, EH22 1QX
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum, DOE (Negotiable)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

We’re looking for an Automotive Service Advisor to be the friendly face and organised heart of our busy, family-run garage in, Dalkeith! You will not just be another number we will value you as a member of our team and welcome your input to help grow our business.
This role is for someone with a prior knowledge and understanding of vehicles including repairs which is es-sential for the role and we encourage anyone with the relevant experience to apply!

The Role – Automotive Service Advisor
You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, managing incoming queries, creating estimates, handling admin duties, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in providing top-tier service.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome customers and visitors in a warm, professional manner
Answer and direct calls with excellent phone etiquette
Manage bookings, appointments, and job allocations using garage software
Create and manage customer estimates
Book service, repair work and MOT’s
Keep customers fully informed of progress and advise of extra work needed
Support invoicing, record keeping and basic financial administration tasks
Maintain accurate records and service updates for customers
Liaise with the workshop team to support a smooth handover of information
Perform data entry, filing, and general office duties to keep everything organised
Keep the reception area presentable and customer-ready
About You – Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in the motor trade with a knowledge of vehicles and parts.
Strong administrative background – ideally in a fast-paced or customer-facing environment
Excellent customer service skills with a confident, professional manner
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Good typing speed and confidence with software systems – experience with online garage platforms is a plus
Team player with a proactive, positive attitude
