About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Accountancy Practice in the Edinburgh that is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a well-established firm known for its exceptional client service and supportive working environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a diverse client base, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and providing valuable support to the wider accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records for a range of clients, including processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and preparing VAT returns.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address queries and provide guidance on financial matters.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to process improvements.

What They’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a similar bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision on core bookkeeping tasks
  • Handle the core processing of bank, sales ledger and purchase ledger including reconcilation
  • Able to work efficiently and effective across multiple clients with varying processing frequencies
  • Be proficient in core softwares – Xero, Quickbooks, Sage Cloud and Dext
  • Willing to explore new developments in technology such as AI bot processing or software integrations
  • Assist other staff members with their bookkeeping tasks
  • Willing to assist in the overall supervision and continued development of the bookkeeping function reporting directly to senior management
