Are you an experienced Contracts Manager looking for your next role.

We are seeking, on behalf of a client, a skilled and proactive Contracts Manager to join our team in Central Scotland. This role requires a leader with a strong background in construction and civils, working closely with Quantity Surveyors to drive project success and maximise operational performance. This is very much a hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender Submissions & Contract Management: Prepare tender submissions, write Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), method statements, and risk assessments. Demonstrate a solid understanding of contract types, such as FIDIC and NEC contracts.
  • Site Operations & Compliance: Oversee and manage all site operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality, and environmental standards. Maintain ISO accreditations and ensure projects comply with regulatory and contract requirements.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Provide strong, decisive leadership to site teams, prioritising safety and compliance while fostering an environment of operational excellence.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Collaborate closely with Quantity Surveyors to manage project budgets, optimise costs, and allocate resources effectively to achieve project milestones.
  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers, facilitating effective communication and smooth project delivery.
  • Strategic Planning & Issue Resolution: Lead project planning, assess risks, and resolve issues proactively to meet performance and compliance targets.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong background in writing tenders, CPP documents, method statements, and risk assessments, with a solid understanding of FIDIC and NEC contracts
  • Extensive knowledge of health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations, with experience in maintaining ISO accreditations
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proactive approach to managing site teams and ensuring compliance
  • Experience working alongside Quantity Surveyors to control budgets, forecast costs, and maximise project profitability
