The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Commercial Valuations Surveyor to provide valuation services across a range of commercial trading sectors including Hotels, Pubs and Restaurants, while supporting the Healthcare and Medical teams. You will provide advice and valuations on businesses and going-concern properties across Scotland and parts of England.

Working as a key member of the valuation team, you will build strong relationships with major clients, banks, investors, accountants and operators. The role works alongside two experienced Valuation Directors based in Scotland, as well as the agency, consultancy and capital markets teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Survey and value properties and trading businesses
  • Inspect properties thoroughly to determine value
  • Generate business through email, telephone prospecting and individual initiatives
  • Respond efficiently and effectively to client and applicant enquiries
  • Prepare marketing literature and detailed reports
  • Develop relationships with solicitors, accountants and other professional bodies
  • Understand accounts and leases
  • Use valuation techniques
  • Cross-sell Group companies

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Relevant Real Estate degree
  • RICS Chartered status
  • Minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong IT skills and excellent Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Report preparation skills
