An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, suitably qualified and experienced nurse to join the Head, Neck and Thyroid Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Team. Working as part of the specialist nursing team, the successful applicant will provide expert care, support and advice to patients throughout their treatment pathway. This includes patients undergoing surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radioactive iodine treatment. The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to coordinate care, support patients and their families, provide holistic needs assessments, and contribute to the delivery of high quality, person centred cancer care across the patient pathway.

Oncology services are primarily provided at the Western General Hospital, with Head and Neck Surgical Services delivered at St John’s Hospital and Endocrine Services at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The successful applicant will be required to work across all three sites and should be able to adopt a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.

Applicants must be first level registered nurses with evidence of continuing professional development and experience caring for patients within oncology, surgical or palliative care settings. A flexible approach to days of work is required.

Please note: As this post is part-time, the salary will be pro-rata.
