Dounreay is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to provide expert advice and support across site projects and facilities. Working with internal teams, regulators and key stakeholders, you will help ensure environmental compliance, support the site’s environmental strategy and contribute to the delivery of important environmental objectives.
What will you be doing
As a Senior Environmental Advisor, you will provide technical environmental support across the Dounreay site, ensuring compliance with legislation and environmental management requirements. You will work closely with project and facility teams, regulators and stakeholders to promote best practice and support continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing specialist environmental advice to projects and facilities across the site.
- Liaising with SEPA and representing Dounreay at internal and external forums.
- Producing environmental assessments, documentation and awareness training.
- Supporting environmental management system improvements and mentoring colleagues.
Who are we looking for
We’re looking for a proactive environmental professional with strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance within a regulated environment. You will be confident engaging with stakeholders, providing technical guidance and supporting environmental improvement initiatives.
To be successful, you will have:
- A degree in Environmental Studies or an equivalent qualification, supported by relevant experience.
- Experience providing environmental advice and support in a regulated industry.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to interpret legislation and apply environmental standards effectively.
