Job Opportunity: Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor/Associate (4+ PQE)

Location: Glasgow

Overview:

A leading commercial practice is seeking a Solicitor or Associate with 4+ years’ experience in non-contentious construction to join its expanding team. The role involves advising on major development projects, regeneration schemes and engineering matters – particularly in the energy sector. You’ll work with developers, contractors, funders, consultants and public-sector bodies on high-value, UK-wide projects.

Role Requirements:

  • Advising on construction aspects of property developments, including building contracts, appointments, collateral warranties, bonds and guarantees
  • Supporting significant engineering and energy projects across onshore wind, hydro, battery storage, solar and other technologies
  • Drafting and negotiating a variety of construction documents
  • Providing clear technical guidance to colleagues and clients
  • Managing project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements
  • Attending meetings, progressing matters efficiently and maintaining up-to-date knowledge
  • Contributing to business development, client relationships and market awareness
  • Supervising junior team members and supporting knowledge sharing

Experience:

  • 4+ years’ PQE in non-contentious construction work
  • Experience advising developers, funders, contractors or consultants
  • Confident handling complex documentation with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated involvement in major development or energy-related projects

Skills:

  • Clear communicator with excellent drafting skills
  • Organised, commercially aware and capable of managing deadlines
  • Collaborative team member with leadership potential
  • Analytical, proactive and able to provide practical solutions
