Job Description
Anderson Knight is currently seeking a Senior Procurement Officer for one of clients within the public sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing procurement activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the efficient and effective acquisition of goods, services, and works. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes and the ability to deliver value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Management: Lead and manage the end-to-end procurement process, including tendering, contract management, and supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations and best practices.
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organisation s objectives, optimise costs, and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs, provide expert advice, and ensure procurement activities support the organisation s goals.
- Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable terms and conditions, and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with relevant public sector procurement regulations, policies, and guidelines, including sustainability and ethical procurement practices.
- Risk Management: Identify potential procurement risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the organisation s interests.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed procurement reports, analyse market trends, and provide insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the procurement team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIPS) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a senior procurement role within the public sector.
