Practice Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant

Location: Hamilton, ML3 6JP.
Salary: £19,000.00-£23,500.00 per year (depending on experience).
Contract: Full time, permanent.

We are now recruiting for a Practice Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join our growing team!


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks for various clients
• Reconciliation of Debtors and Creditors on quarterly basis for various clients
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
• Prepare accurate and timeously book-keeping records up to trial balance
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
• Assist with year-end accounts and tax preparation

What we need from you:

• Proficient in using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Excel and QuickBooks
• Strong understanding of double entry book-keeping
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Please note that prior experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role is mandatory. A degree in accounting or a related field is also beneficial.
