Job Description

This is an opportunity for a Maintenance Piping / Pipework Scoper to support a remote planning team by providing piping field information to allow detailed plans to be completed off site.

Candidates must have demonstrable experience in a piping role, e.g. Pipe Fitter with leadership experience, Mechanical Technician, Piping Supervisor, Piping Foreman, Piping Superintendent, Maintenance Scoper within the petrochemical, oil & gas or heavy industry sectors.

The scope of work will include:

  • Assess pipework and equipment condition on site.
  • Scope correction, in case if any including field scoping with process planners.
  • Process isolation locations.
  • Photographs of site / equipment / process isolation locations.
  • Prepare detailed isometric in case of piping jobs which includes dimensions of piping and fittings, correct directions, indication of North direction, indication of any non-standard piping/fitting, material of construction of piping and fittings, details of supports etc
  • Indicate any mismatch with existing isometrics when available
  • Verify the dimensions of available isometric drawings, where in doubt.
  • Specify any site hurdles e.g. clashes with equipment and remedial actions required.
  • Deal with Scaffolding / Insulation any other arrangements required.
  • Provide name plate details of any equipment if required for any specific job.
  • Respond to query file on daily basis to find out new queries and react to them on a timely basis.
  • Respond to emails and conduct video calls on daily basis to interact with overseas Planners.
  • To join query resolution / backlog clearance meetings or any other invited meetings scheduled on regular basis through video.

The successful candidate must:

  • Be able to have technical discussions relating to piping and pipework with a thorough understanding of piping jargon.
  • Be able to read cross section drawings of equipment, read and prepare sketch piping isometrics and have a full understanding of P&IDs and their symbols.
  • Understand plant layouts and be able to determine equipment and piping locations from P&ID and equipment functional locations.
  • Be computer literate with MS Office etc.
  • Have excellent communication skills and relationship management skills.

This role is Inside IR35. The rates advertised are PAYE. Candidates can work via an Umbrella company if desired.
