Your Role:
As a Hydrovac Operator, youll be at the heart of the action, executing precision suction excavation while maintaining our commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate hydrovac trucks using high-pressure water and vacuum systemsperform slot trenching, debris removal, utility exposure, and suction excavation,andgully cleaning/maintenance.
- Prepare and manage job sitesconduct pre-job hazard assessments, inspect for underground utilities, and set up safe working zones.
- Safeguard operationsadhere to all safety and environmental protocols, remain alert to ground conditions, and safeguard against line strikes and site hazards.
- Maintain equipmentperform pre- and post-shift checks, routine maintenance, and promptly report or arrange repairs.
- Documentation & communicationrecord daily logs, complete required paperwork accurately, and liaise clearly with supervisors, team members, and clients.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid HGV license (ideally Class 2 or C) with clean driving record
- Experience operating hydrovac or vacuum excavation equipment (or similar heavy vehicles)
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance regulations
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Physically fit with resilience to work across varying weather and site conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance
Additional (Preferred):
- CSCS Card for Construction sites
- Certifications in First Aid, Groundworks, or relevant safety training
- Experience with emergency response or willingness to be on-call
- Familiarity with GPS tracking systems and fleet safety programmes
