Quantity Surveyor – Permanent Opportunity, Inverness
Your new company
In your new position as a Quantity Surveyor you will be joining a contractor with offices based in the Inverness area. Working across construction and civil engineering you will be joining an established firm. Joining on a permanent vacancy as a Quantity Surveyor, you will be paid a competitive annual salary + package.
Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for p reparing and analysing project costings, budgets and tenders. You will n egotiate contracts and work schedules with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve the best value in line with the goals of the project. You will m onitor and control costs and risks throughout the project lifecycle. Your day-to-day duties will include working in partnership with the site management team, l iaising with clients, architects, engineers and other stakeholders as part of project reviews and problem-solving. A large part of your role will l involve p reparing and submitting reports, invoices and processing payments. You will also provide project support by a dvising on procurement, legal and regulatory issues.
What you’ll need to succeed
Ideally you will be qualified with a degree or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying or a related discipline. Applicants with HNC/ HND and relevant experience will also be considered. You must have a t least 2 years of relevant experience in the construction industry. You must have e xcellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills. System knowledge and p roficiency in MS Office and relevant software applications would also be essential to be able to analyse the data and compile the required reports. You must also hold a valid UK driving licence as you will be required to travel to sites and client meetings.
