Senior Quantity Surveyor, up to £65K basic + bonus, car & benefits

Working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for an established Civil Engineering Contractor, you will work on a permanent contract and be based at the office in Inverness. This opportunity offers an immediate start, a competitive salary and a range of additional company benefits.
Your new role
In your new role as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the operations team to control the budget and manage all commercial aspects of one or more projects being delivered. You will primarily work on projects related to civil engineering energy and utilities where the average project value is £5 – £10 Million. You will be responsible for monthly reporting, preparation of subcontract contracts through to payment to subcontractors, and day to day contractual and cost management. You will spend your time working between the office and on-site locations, liaise with the client and other external stakeholders where appropriate. Your previous experience will allow you to mentor and guide more junior members of staff whilst operating with the company’s best practice at heart.
What you’ll need to succeed
This role requires you to have strong demonstrable experience of delivering civil engineering works under NEC3 / NEC4 Contracts. Previous experience in this area is essential. Currently working at Senior Quantity Surveyor level or in a position to step up would be preferred as you will be taking the lead on a large new project starting in early 2024. Working as part of a team is essential, so you must have excellent interpersonal skills and wish to work towards building a strong team. Ideally, you will have a degree in Quantity Surveying and live local to the Highlands. You will have strong knowledge of contract law, dispute resolution and have strong commercial acumen to spot issues and resolve them quickly. You will be an analytical thinker with the ability to clearly report on the commercials of the project. Excellent negotiation and communication skills will also be required in this role. A driving licence is essential to allow you to travel to sites and any meetings required.
