Job Description

Work for a leading Main Contractor on Large New Educational Development in Edinburgh ( 30Million)

Your new company
Our client is a well established main contractor with multiple large projects on the ground across the Central Belt at this time. Typical projects include works across the education and public sector areas and range from £5million to £50million. They are committed to developing their leaders from within and their site engineering cadre is typically their source of their next site and project managers. They have just landed a brilliant new project in Edinburgh which will require at least one Site Engineer to join the operations team onsite. This is a £30million new build development for a large educational institution and will be 2 years in duration.
Your new role
As Site Engineer you will support the Site and Project Manager in the delivery of large complex commercial building projects. You will be engaged with all stakeholders of the project from assisting your subcontractors to deliver their projects in line with design and quality standards while interacting with design and client reps. As a key part of the site team you will utilise your technical skill set in the setting out of these projects and driving standards across time, cost and quality targets. Our client see their Site Engineers as their next Site Managers and Project Managers, so as the project proceeds you will be given increased levels of responsibility and opportunities for skills development.
What you’ll need to succeed
Our client is not seeking a highly experienced engineer. You will be a graduate in a civil or related engineering discipline and have at least two years experience onsite for either a subcontractor, civil contractor or main contractor. You enjoy being out onsite and working as part of a hard-working team and have a real ambition to learn and develop your expertise towards site and project management within a main contractor built environment.
What you’ll get in return
Our clients are committed to the training and development of their team and are recognised for their meritocratic and driven work environment. You will be paid a competitive salary and benefits and have the opportunity to work on large exciting projects across the central belt.
