Our client have strong projects winsacross the healthcare, education and commercial sectors. They are seeking a Principle/Associate level Mechanical Engineer to join either their Glasgow or Edinburgh office to help contribute to overall growth and company strategy.

Your new role
As an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing the mechanical design aspects on exciting projects. You will work closely with clients, architects, contractors and other engineers to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions that meet the client’s needs and expectations. You will also mentor and supervise junior engineers, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.

  • Understanding project briefs
  • Design and specification of all Mechanical Building systems
  • Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, IES, in-house developed tools, etc
  • Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
  • Report and technical note writing
  • Undertake financial management of project related activities.
  • Assist in development of new clients or opportunities for the company
  • Contribute to the development of junior staff.
  • What you’ll need to succeed

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in building services design
  • Proficiency in using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving
  • A passion for continuous learning and development
