Eden Scott are pleased to be supporting Forth Projects with the appointment of a Project Engineer who will play a key role in the delivery of one of the largest Offshore Infrastructure Projects in the UK. The Project Engineer will also work with the wider organisation to assist with tendering activity for new Offshore Wind contract wins for the Forth Ports group.

Position Overview

The Project Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the growth and enhancement of the Forth Projects service offering. This position will support the wider team in ensuring successful project tendering and delivery, with a particular focus on the Inch Cape foundation project in Leith. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the role provides an excellent opportunity for exposure to various business functions including operations, tendering and engineering while contributing to high-impact deliverables.

This role will work closely with our Discipline Engineers to develop knowledge of SPMT and mobile crane engineering, with exposure to the entire project lifecycle from tendering through to final onsite delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Support: Act as Project Engineer for the Inch Cape foundation project under direct supervision.
  • Deliverable Production: Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of project milestones.

Deliverable Production

  • Assist in producing critical project documentation such as Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) and engineering calculations.
  • Ensure all outputs adhere to organizational and client standards.

Business Engagement

  • Gain exposure to all aspects of the Forth Projects business including operations, tendering and engineering functions.
  • Support the Head of Operations with assigned tasks to streamline processes and achieve project objectives.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams to meet tendering and delivery goals.
  • Assist in building effective working relationships with external stakeholders including clients and contractors.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or related discipline) with 2-3 years post degree experience in the offshore construction sector
  • Demonstrated interest in project engineering (through internships, academic projects or early career experience)
  • Familiarity with project lifecycle activities such as tendering and delivery.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools and software (e.g., CAD, MS Office Suite).
  • Basic understanding of producing RAMS and technical calculations.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • A customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.

Additional Information

  • This role may involve occasional travel to other project sites or stakeholder locations, so a driving licence is essential.
