Escape Recruitment is working in partnership with a mechanical contractor who is looking to recruit a gas engineer to join their busy team.
Theyare looking to hire a qualified/ experienced domestic gas engineer who is looking to upskill within commercial gas. Full training and on the job learning/ development will be provided with an aim to complete your commercial gas tickets within 12months. They have long-term relationships in place with customers who are a mix of domestic, commercial, and industrial contracts.
Your role involves installation, service, repair, and maintenance of gas appliances. Contracts are mainly within the central belt, although some travel a little further afield in Scotland and the North of England may be required.
Duties include:
- Installation, service, repair, and maintenance of gas appliances.
- This is a varied role where you could be working on a large industrial installation and commissioning project one day to a domestic annual boiler service the next.
- Ensuring all health and safety regulations are being adhered to at all times.
- Ensuring all paperwork is correct and kept up to date.
- Working as part of the on-call rota (once able to) to ensure all client requirements are met.
- Putting customer satisfaction at the heart of everything you do.
Qualifications/ Experience required:
- Qualified to City & Guilds/ SVQ Level 3 in Gas Engineer / equivalent disciplines.
- Holding up-to-date domestic gas tickets: CCN1, CoCDN1, CENWAT, CKR1 and CPA1.
- Holding any commercial gas tickets would be advantageous but not essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good customer awareness/ service skills.
- A ‘can do’ attitude with a desire to continue to learn and develop.
Package:
- Salary – circa 35,000 starting salary DOE.
- Van + fuel card.
- Upgrade to commercial gas (full ongoing training and development).

- Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm.
- Overtime available.
- On-call rota (1/6) once completed training.
