Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor – Aberdeen
Our client are looking for a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor to join their operation in Aberdeen, UK. As DGSA, you are to ensure a customer focused and professional DGS service is delivered to the company’s, multi-client portfolio. This shall be achieved by conducting dangerous goods site audits, providing expert advice and support on all ADR & CDG compliancy requirements, assisting with dangerous goods incident investigations, where required, and preparing mandatory annual reports.

Hours: Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 17:30pm
Description of the role/day-to-day:
- Legal requirements including but not limited to dangerous goods, customs, quarantine and transport security
- All agreements and regulations concerning the transport and handling of dangerous goods
- Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance guidelines
- Customer’s policies and procedures
- Report all hazards, near misses and events immediately
- Comply with the requirements of QHSE Management System and assist the organization on occasion in times of emergency.
- Maintain a high standard of work quality through accuracy and efficiency when completing tasks
- To monitor, advise and report on latest ADR & CDG dangerous goods transport compliance and best practice for our clients
- Maintain, improve and assist DGS Manager to expand current service being provided.
- Conduct detailed site audits in person and where required, remotely via MS Teams.
- Provide Clients with accurate advice and guidance on the transportation of all DG Classes
- Maintain and develop knowledge of legislation, and industry body guidance, relevant to DG
- Preparation of audit reports, annual reports and where necessary incident reports
- Provide support to the DGS Manager in all aspects of DG activity
Requirements:
- Be able to understand, interpret and apply complex regulatory information
- Comfortable in the use of video conferencing tools, i.e. MS Teams, Zoom
- DGS accreditation ideally also with experience in all modes of transport
- Confident delivering safety advice to all levels of management
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to show initiative and deliver solutions
- Good planning and organisation skills
- Flexible to travel within the UK
Essentials and desired:
- IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualifications
- IMDG/IATA/RADAC
- Audit qualifications
- RPS
